Momentum is our fortnightly meeting of prayer and reflection on alternate Mondays in the church, where we meet to pray for the church and our community. At the current time, the meeting is occurring online using Zoom.
We normally meet from 8:00-9:00pm and pray for the vision of St Mark’s, seeking to discern what God is calling us to do and who to be in our community. Each fortnight has a separate theme for reflection, based on our sermon series or other subjects which our leadership team has discerned as important.
We pray for around 15 minutes in small groups for the life of the church and our community of Holbrook, then we reflect at prayer stations in silent prayer for around 25 minutes. Through prayer stations, waiting on God, praying in threes and so on, we seek to hear what God is saying to us as individuals and to the church. We come together after the meditation time to share any words, pictures or scriptures we feel that God is showing us for St Mark's. The leadership team takes all the words and weighs them each time, seeking to explore any themes which emerge.
We believe that through the words and pictures that have been shared at Momentum over the years, the Lord has guided us and encouraged us to step out in faith. We end our prayer evening with a worship song at 9:00pm.
You are warmly invited to come along and pray for the life of St Mark's and for our Parish of Holbrook. Momentum usually meets every 2nd and 4th Monday in term time, but please check the church calendar for the latest dates and times.
